He is survived by: his brother David; his wife Marilyn Tickel; his children, Linda Scearce, Chuck Matthews Wayne Matthews, Karen Hasychak, Diane Hancock and Janice Jaramillo; his grandchildren, Ricky Scearce, Aimee Dickey, Shannon Scearce, Dustin Matthews, Brittany O'Brien, Cody Matthews, Hayley Matthews, Wayne Matthews Jr., Stacy Simmons, Robert Matthews, Holly Matthews, Schirra Gray, Bobby Hasychak, Jason Hasychak, Ashley Hasychak, Daniel McClure, Jennifer Bagley, Eric McClure and Devin Hancock; and his stepgrandson Brandon Hancock. He is also survived by 36 great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, January 15th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Fellows, Helfenbein & Newnam Funeral Home (408 S Liberty St, Centreville, MD 21617). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, January 15th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Wednesday, January 15th 2025 at the Chesterfield Cemetery (406 S Liberty St, Centreville, MD 21617).
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Association or St Judes Hospital.
