She was predeceased by: her parents, Louise Harris, and John Harris, Sr.; her husband Herbert J. DeShields, Jr.; her siblings, Beatrice, Magaline, Doris, Eleanor, John, Jr., Charles, Robert, Kenneth, Alfred and Larry; and her children, Jacqueline and Keith, Sr..
She is survived by: her children, Laura Jean, Patricia, Vernon, Sr., Garnett (Mary) and Kevin (Darlene); her grandson Warren DeShields; her sisters, Nancy (Leroy) and Edith (George); and her siblings-in-law, Theresa and Frederick (Barbara). She is also survived by twelve grandchildren, twenty-eight great grandchildren, eleven great-great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Saturday, November 9th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Henry Funeral Home (510 Washington St, Cambridge, MD 21613). A celebration of life was held on Saturday, November 9th 2024 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the same location.
