It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Alden Eugene Poet of Queenstown, Maryland, who passed away on January 11, 2024, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Russell Poet and Nellie Thompson; his wife Joan V. Poet; his daughter Karen L. Poet; and his siblings, Franklin Poet, Miriam Treichler, Betty Thompson, Orman Poet and Gordon "Bunky" Poet.
He is survived by: his children, Daniel E. Poet of Queenstown, David W. Poet (Kathy) of Ridgely and T. Gail Poet Dadds (Dale) of Ingleside; his grandchildren, Megan Poet-Messner (John), Laura Dixon (Sean), Jessy Edwards (Joe), Ashlyn Beaudett (John) and Katelyn Prince (Doug); and his great grandchildren, Kayleigh Dixon, Will Messner, Nellie, Macie Prince and Summer Beaudett. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Memorial contributions may be made to Queenstown Volunteer Fire Department, where he was a lifetime member.
