He is survived by: his mother Attro Cox (Elliott); his spouse Shirley Cox (Huffman); and his children, Terresa Bopp (Alvin), Cheryl Alexander (Paul), James "Eddie" Cox (Donna) and Anthony "Tony" Cox (Rachael). He is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
