She was predeceased by: her parents, Viola Ballard and Charles Ballard; her children, Ernest, Jr., Nicole and Margaret Kersey; and her siblings, Josephine Handy, Shirley Ballard, Wesley Ballard, Hewitt Ballard and Calvin Waters.
She is survived by: her children, Lydia Peterson of Frederick, MD, Kaven (Laure) of Frederick, MD, Tinna of Frederick, MD, Raymond Kersey (Priscilla) of Frederick, MD, Carol of Princess Anne, MD, Nathan of Princess Anne, MD, Jennifer Kersey of Princess Anne, MD and Eric Kersey of Hickory, NC; her siblings, Leroy Ballard (Leola) of Laurel, Bessie Dickerson (William) of Pocomoke City, MD and Delores James (Lionel) of Salisbury, MD; and her godchildren, Thelma Douglas of Princess Anne, MD and John Gordy, Jr. of Princess Anne, MD. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.
