She was predeceased by: her parents, Hoyt Somers and Barbara Somers (Laird) of Oriole; her husband James Canter; and her siblings, Arnold Somers, Robert Somers, Linwood Somers, Jack Somers, Kathren Somers, Anna Marie Abbott and Georgia Lee Mansfield.
She is survived by: her sister Janice Leath of St. Stephens; her children, Albert Reeves of Delaware and Brenda Benton of Deal Island, MD; her grandchildren, Gerald S. Benton, Jr. of Salisbury, David B. Metts, Jr. of Hartley, DE, Susan of Delaware, Marjorie of Delaware and Rose Reeves of Delaware; and her great grandchildren, Jeremy Knopf, Brandi Benton, Nathan Metts, Nolan Metts and Emori Metts. She is also survived by many great-great grandchildren, and her beloved nieces and nephews.
