It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Maurice E. Johnson Sr. of Princess Anne, Maryland, who passed away on March 11, 2025, at the age of 54, leaving to mourn family and friends. As we bid Maurice farewell, let us not mourn the absence of his physical form, but rather celebrate the essence of his spirit that lingers in the spaces between moments. For Maurice is not truly gone, but merely transformed, his energy intertwined with the fabric of the universe itself, forever dancing among the stars.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Curtis W. Johnson, Jr. and Jeanie Lee Clark Johnson; and his brother Deangelo Snead. He is survived by: his wife Melinda M. Johnson; his children, Shakiyla Johnson, Erica Nelson-Bucio (Joseph), Zy'Reanna Johnson, Aaliyah King, Maurice E. Johnson, Jr., Marquise Johnson and Jakye Johnson; and his brothers, Curtis W. Johnson, III and Donta Snead. He is also survived by six grandchildren; a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, in-laws, and friends.
