He was predeceased by: his parents, Oscar F. Deshields and Beulah M. Collins Deshields; his son Maurice Williams; and his siblings, Frederick Deshields, James Deshields, John Deshields, Woodrow Deshields, Helen Deshields and Ruth Reed.
He is survived by: his wife Geraldine Deshields; his sons, Kevin Williams and Sean Deshields; and his siblings, Arthur Deshields (Phyllis), Thomas Deshields (Debra), Ella Mae Robinson, Josephine Spence, Martha Williams and Jean Whittington. He is also survived by five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; several nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives, in-laws, and friends.
