He was predeceased by: his parents, Jim Bob Rowland and Lila Jo Scott-Rowland; his sister Jane Rowland; and his stepdaughter Brenda James. He is survived by: his wife Barbara Rowland; his children, Bryan Rowland (Shirley) and Deidra Gardner (James); his stepchildren, Teresa James and Gerald James, Jr.; and his grandsons, Kennie Montgomery, Anthony Montgomery and Gerald James, III. He is also survived by six great grandchildren; nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends.
