He was predeceased by: his parents, Benjamin L. Cox, Sr. and Minnie Cox. He is survived by: his children, Benjamin L. Cox, III (Erica), Benie Everett and Lanique Cox-Harris (George); and his siblings, Kenny E. Cox and Martha Simmons. He is also survived by nine grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.
