He was predeceased by: his parents, Earl Ballard, Sr. and Lena Stevenson Alford; his wife Harriett M. Ballard; his stepdaughter Jacqueline M. Burrell; and his siblings, Earl Ballard, Jr., Charles Ballard, Maggie Lena Ballard and Estella Ballard.
He is survived by: his daughter Donzell Hayman (Rodney, Sr.); his grandchildren, Kendra Clavon and Rodney Hayman, Jr.; his great grandchildren, Danah Hayman, Cameron Parker and Darien Thompson; his nephews, Earl Ballard III and Michael Ballard; his niece Maggie "Hannah" Ballard; his godchildren, Cecillia Westcott, Mark Curry, Angela Corbin, Ellis Collier and Briaja Collins; and his close friend Sharon Brooks. He is also survived by several other nephews, nieces, relatives, and friends.
