He is survived by: his wife Carolyn Chasse Nieves; his daughters, Michelle Clement of Avenue, MD and Karen Nieves of North Beach, MD; his granddaughters, Courtney Nieves of North Beach, MD and Savannah Schriever of Avenue, MD; and his siblings, Millie Ramey of Burke, VA and James Nieves of Ocean City, MD..

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Ray's name to St. Nicholas Lutheran Church.
