He was predeceased by: his parents, J. Gill Denton and Nettie Mae Denton of Barstow; his brother Edward W. Denton; and his wife Pauline E. Denton (Brigham). He is survived by: his brothers, Roland K. Denton and Lawrence Denton; his children, Sherry Decker of Leonardtown Md and Joseph L. Denton Jr. of Prince Frederick; and his grandchildren, Shana Smith of Glen Arm, Jaime McQuay of Hollywood, Joseph L. Denton (Nottingham), Jennifer Lund of Port Republic and Jessica Turner of King George. He is also survived by seven great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
