He was predeceased by: his parents, Emory Wood Sutphin and Annie Sutphin; his daughter Mary Beth Evans; his siblings, George Sutphin and Bertie Mae Tayman; and his great grandchild Ryatt Harris.
He is survived by: his wife Mary E. Sutphin of Prince Frederick; his daughters, Elizabeth Harris (Jimmy) of Huntingtown and Peggy Sutphin (Martin Simmons) of Lothian; and his brother Charles Blanton (Betty) of Florida. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, as well as many loving nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Hospice of the Chesapeake.
