It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Ernest Laverne Rowell Sr. of Prince Frederick, Maryland, who passed away on April 6, 2024, at the age of 94, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Charlie L. Rowell and Annie Janie Rowell; his children, Vernie Reed, Ernie Rowell, Jr., Darrell Caudill and Calvin Darnell; and his grandchildren, Shayna O'Berry and Joseph Shepherd.

He is survived by: his wife Violette; his children, Bonnie Blackwell, Debbie Weimert (Ron), Marilyn Harkey (Henry Guyther), Lisa Rowell and John Darnell; his siblings, Elizabeth Mincey, Hubert Rowell and Keats Rowell; and his grandchildren, Shawne O'Berry, Jenny Ferreria, Kaley Blackwell, Kevin Weimert, Darrin Weimert, Krystal Federici, Jeffrey Weimert, Jessica Morgan, Adrienne Harkey, Lacey Weston and Ashley Lawrence. He is also survived by 26 Great Grandchildren and 5 Great Great Grandchildren.

“We were so sorry to hear about "Pop-pop": he and "Mom-mom" meant so much to our babies when they were taking care of them: at the ages 0f 4,3,2,1, and newborn! We all have so many great memories of both of your parents with our kids. Knowing they were in their care gave us such peace.
