He was predeceased by: his parents, John Charles and Annette Kirby (Christian); his wife Mary Frances Kirby; his son Gary Kirby; and his brother Ed Kirby.

He is survived by: his son Chuck Kirby (Kim); his grandsons, Eric Kirby (Tara) and Jason Kirby (Megen); his great grandchildren, Addison, Austin and Ashton Kirby; and his sisters, Eula M. Catterton, Mary Diane Wells (Hugh) and Hazel M. Williams. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
