She was predeceased by: her parents, John Wesley and Susie Caroline Smothers; her daughter Karen; her husband Donald Butler; her siblings, Mary Smothers, Shirley Grace and Leonard Perkins; and her nephew Charles Smothers.
She is survived by: her daughters, Erica, Donna and Michele; her grandchildren, Kevonda, Natalie, Tameka, Takeshia, Dondrey (Brenda), Monaye, Davonte and De'Asia; her goddaughter Tracey Whittaker; and her nephews, Kelvin Smothers, James Butler Jr. and Daniel Grace. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, and other relatives.
