He was predeceased by: his parents, Florence Leong and Edmund Leong; and his sister Serena Lim. He is survived by: his wife Donna Herndon; his children, Eric, Jonathan, Anna and Dean; his grandchildren, Nate, Penny, Filip and Tommy; and his sisters, Carolyn Hee and Shirlene Nakano.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Dachshund Rescue of North America, Inc. (DRNA), or the Angel Island Immigration Station Foundation.
