It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Edward C. Whitman of Potomac, Maryland, who passed away on May 10, 2023, at the age of 82, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Edward C. Whitman to pay them a last tribute.
He was loved and cherished by many people including: his brother Robert Whitman (Bob); his children, Robert, Michael Whitman and Leslie Ann (Whitman); his wife Katherine Mary Whitman (Gaffney); and his close friend Debby Witt. He was also cherished by children, 20 grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren.
If you wish to honor Ed, in lieu of flowers, please donate to the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra, to which he was devoted; pick up a copy of his oft-quoted Spoon River Anthology, play some grand organ music loudly, cook a fabulous Italian meal, read a weighty book, try something new, travel, feed the birds, hug your loved ones close, and raise a glass of good red wine to Ed.
