She was predeceased by: her parents, Lucas Rivera and Anna Rivera (Aledo). She is survived by: her daughter Glicer Nalvarte of Poolesville, MD; and her granddaughters, Sofia and Cecilia Nalvarte.

Fanny was instrumental in establishing the Rene Matos Memorial fund which continues to support educational efforts for Hispanics.
