He was predeceased by: his parents, James Cody, Jr. and Emma Katherine Curtis (Miner). He is survived by: his wife Kathy Ann Cody; his sons, Brian Cody (Kristin) of Poolesville, MD and Jason Cody (Tiffany) of Poolesville, MD.; his stepmother Mary Lee Cody of Jonesville, VA.; his brother Kenneth Cody (Judy) of Adamstown, MD.; his sister-in-law Karen Williams of Dickerson, MD.; and his grandsons, Brayden, Kolten and Greyson Cody of Poolesville, MD.
