He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Frederick Bethard and Anne Burns Bethard; and his brother Patrick Hunter Bethard. He is survived by: his children, Sarah Lynne Bethard of Laurel, DE and William Steven Bethard of Elkton, MD; his siblings, Lynne Mitchell (David) of Powellville, MD and Chip Bethard (Flora); his grandsons, River and Elias; and his close friend Shelly Tasker of Pocomoke City, MD. He is also survived by seven nephews; two nieces and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
