With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Gloria Godwin Sharpley (Pocomoke City, Maryland), born in Sanford, Virginia, who passed away on December 22, 2020 at the age of 90. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Thomas Edward and Erna Chase Godwin; her husband Willie Russell Sharpley; her son Rodney Keith Sharpley, Sr.; her sister Rosa Faye Long; and her sister-in-law Virginia Ewell Godwin.
She is survived by: her son Thomas R. Sharpley, Sr. (Catherine) of Virginia Beach, VA; her brothers, Richard Lee Godwin (Judy) of Oak Hall, VA and Reginal Thomas Godwin of Indian Head, MD; her grandchildren, Thomas R. Sharpley, Jr., Matthew E. Sharpley, Sarah E. Sharpley of Virginia Beach, VA, Rodney Keith Sharpley, Jr. of Chincoteague, VA, Kelly Marie Rose (Brandon) of Pocomoke City, MD and Jordan N. Sharpley of Mount Vernon, MD; and her great grandchildren, Thomas R. Sharpley III, Elijah W. Sharpley of Virginia Beach, VA, Kassidy A. Sharpley of Chincoteague, VA and Grayson Rose of Pocomoke City. She is also survived by extended family including cousins, nieces and nephews.
