He was predeceased by: his parents, Brauddus Fitch Byrd and Lola Taylor Byrd. He is survived by: his sister Martha Byrd Roe; his former wife Hilda Grace Ross; his wife Jane Tyre; his daughters, Sandi Byrd and Wendy Marshall (Allen); his grandchildren, Brooks Marshall, Autumn Marshall Epler (Jonathan), Kaitlyn Ennis and Harley Marshall; and his stepchildren, Linda Bray, Tim Still, Kaye Northam, Gary Northam and Lila O'Connor.
He was the head of the Byrd Family Reunion that was held annually at Milburn Landing until COVID.
