She was predeceased by: her parents, Miles Thornton and Nelda Ferguson Thornton Stant of Cape Charles, VA.; and her son Thomas Lee Ward. She is survived by: her husband William Alvin Ward, Sr.; her children, Tammy Ward Paige (Bruce) of Marion Station, MD and William Alvin Ward, Jr.; and her stepdaughter Janet Marie Richardson (Scott) of Girdletree, MD.

In lieu of flowers the family has requested contributions to Coastal Hospice, P.O. Box 1733, Salisbury, MD 21802.
