With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Robert Sydney Lay of Perryville, Maryland, born in Havre de Grace, Maryland, who passed away on July 13, 2022 at the age of 86. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Christian Leroy, Sr. and Helen Louise Hartenstine Lay; his granddaughter Carman Joanne Lay; and his siblings, Christian Lay, Jr., Donald Lay, John Lay, Charles Lay, Dorothy Bridgforth and Peggy Pentz.
He is survived by: his wife Martha Elizabeth Lay (Betty); and his children, Gary Patrick Lay, Tammi Lynne Lay, P. A., P. O. Box and Perryville, MD. He is also survived by three grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to St. Mark's Episcopal Church in care of Lee A. Patterson & Son Funeral Home, P.A., P.O. Box 766, Perryville, MD 21903-0766.
