She was predeceased by: her parents, Leon Vansant and Mabel Hilaman Ewing; her husband Clayton Lee McDowell; and her brothers, Albert Ewing (Mary Jane) and Warren Ewing (Jeanne).
She is survived by: her children, H. Elizabeth "Libby" McCullough (Allan) of Conowingo, MD and C. Ewing McDowell (Debbie) of Rising Sun, MD; her grandchildren, Joy Duke (Aaron), Luke McCullough, James McDowell (Morgan) and Sarah McDowell; her great grandchild Cora McDowell; and her sons, P. A., P. O. Box and Perryville, MD.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Hopewell United Methodist Church or to the Cecil County Retired School Personnel (CCRSP) Scholarship fund in care of Lee A. Patterson & Son Funeral Home, P.A., P.O. Box 766, Perryville, MD 21903-0766.
