He was predeceased by: his parents, Cardiff McComas and Erma McComas; and his sister Carolyn McComas. He is survived by: his wife Peggy; his children, Pamela McComas, David McComas and Caitlin Boone (Andrew); his siblings, Elaine Deitzel and Dick McComas; and his grandchildren, Cartiff, Evelyn and Edward "Leo". He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, friends and family may make a donation in Dave's memory to the Susquehanna American Legion Post No. 135, P.O. Box 98, Perryville, MD 21903.
