He was predeceased by: his parents, George Berends and Dolores Berends; and his brother William Berends. He is survived by: his wife Pamela Berends; his children, Timothy Berends, Kristina Bujanda and Carrie Sales; his grandchildren, Camden Anderson, Sebastian Bujanda and Genna Sales; and his brothers, Robert Berends and Mark Berends.
