He was predeceased by: his parents, John Stivers and Lydia Stivers; and his siblings, Audrey, Johnny, Jerry, Kenny and Carroll.
He is survived by: his wife Cynthia Stivers; his sons, John Edward Stivers and Michael David Stivers; his grandchildren, Savannah Stivers and Wayland Stivers; his daughter-in-law Justine Stivers; his siblings, Ida Dennett and Gordon; and his siblings-in-law, Betty Lou Stivers, Richard and Nancy Zimmerman. He is also survived by grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
