He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Edwina Hammett of Pasadena, MD; his children, Terri Smith, David Hammett Jr. and Brian Hammett; his sister Mary Moyers; his grandchildren, Jaclyn Smith, Justin Smith, Jamie Smith, Cierra Tauber, David Hammett, III and Devin Hammett; his great grandchildren, Caleb Nicholson, Alaina Smith and Colton Nicholson; his mother Frances A. Hammett; and his brother Joseph Hammett.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, March 18th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM and from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Stallings Funeral Home (3111 Mountain Rd, Pasadena, MD 21122). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, March 19th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Wednesday, March 19th 2025 at the Glen Haven Memoral Park.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to The American Cancer Society, an organization David supported and believed in.
