He was predeceased by: his parents, Edwin Cornelius Sokel Sr. and Catherine Elizabeth Sokel (Livingston); and his wife Edna Sokel. He is survived by: his children, Kimberly Irwin, Eric Sokel (Anna), Brian Sokel (Tammy) and Peter Novak; and his grandchildren, Ashley, Courtney (Jared), Shenan, Sikara, Ricky (Molly), Paris and Gavin.
Visitation was held on Thursday, January 16th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Friday, January 17th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM. A funeral service was held on Friday, January 17th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Oak Crest Village Chapel (8820 Walther Blvd, Parkville, MD 21234).
