He was predeceased by: his former wives, Irene Watson Burgess and Barbara Heasley; and his grandson Gordon Webster. He is survived by: his parents, Harry Lee Burgess and Bertha Westermeyer Burgess; his wife Phyllis Maier Burgess; his children, Judi Webster (Bill) of Belen, NM, Stephanie Petri (Steve) of Middle River, MD and Donna Burgess of Parkville, MD; his stepchildren, Lynn Gaches (Bill) of Wilmington, NC, Gary Maier (Tracy) of Kingston, TN and Beth A. Hetzel of Mechanicsburg, PA; his brother Wayne Burgess (Madeline) of The Villages, FL; his grandchildren, Kristi Lanciotti, Steven Petri, Kimberly Billa, Danielle Gerkens and Brett Gerkens; and his great grandchildren, Charlotte, Hayden, Ellie, Kohen and Reed. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
