He was predeceased by: his parents, Teddy Sr. Barkley and Silvia Barkley (Dolly); and his siblings, Nell Tingler, Aileen Rachel "Toop" Wolfe and Jerome Calhoun.
He is survived by: his wife Gail Barkley (Nelson); his son Steven Barkley (Robin) of Parkton, MD; his grandchildren, Jonathan Barkley (Kay) of Lincoln, RI and Dr. Rachel Barkley of Medford, MA; and his brother Jake Barkley (Mary) of Elkins, WV.. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
In lieu of flowers contributions in his memory can be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children, a cause that was close to his heart.
