He was predeceased by: his parents, Howard C. Thompson and Mabel E. Thompson (Spicer); and his siblings, Virginia Smith, Norma McClure and Howard "Happy" Thompson.
He is survived by: his wife Wilma Jean Thompson (Lutz); his sons, Howard (Kristen) and Jon, Jr. (Erin); his grandchildren, Ben (Erin), Rachael, Abby and Presley; and his sister Sharon Wolfe (Terry). He is also survived by his many nieces, nephews, and in-laws.
