He was predeceased by: his parents, Herman Openshaw (Pete) and Helen Openshaw (Collins); and also Dennis. He is survived by: his significant other Jean Brown; his son James Openshaw (Kelly); his granddaughter Jamie Openshaw; his great grandchildren, Joshua and Justin Barnes; his siblings, Dennis Openshaw (Shirley), Trish and Naomi Davis; his former wife Linda Mae Openshaw (Day); his pet Nina; and also, Otts, Debbie, Susie and Sherri. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren.
