She was predeceased by: her parents, Sebastian Barnickel and Elizabeth Barnickel (Maisch); her siblings, Joseph G. Barnickel, J. William Barnickel, James S. Barnickel and Clara S. Sandkuhler; and her friend Clara R. "Toots" Ernest.

She is survived by: her son Donald F. Mentzer; her grandchildren, Eric J. Mentzer and Amanda J. Mentzer; her great grandchildren, Hunter J. Johnson, Rachel A. Johnson, Waverly M. Mentzer and Marlowe J. Mentzer; and her close friends, Paulettte Albury and Liz Gay. She is also survived by her many nieces and nephews.
