He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Ernest Monroe and Ethel May Montgomery (Ford); his wife Joyce I. Montgomery; his daughters, Sheila Montgomery (James Abbott) of Port Republic, Susan Montgomery Heckman (Joel) of Chambersburg, PA, Lynda Bratton Williams (John) of Hagerstown and Tina Kamis (William) of Leesburg, VA.; and his grandchildren, Jocelyn, Ethan Abbott, Richard, Brian Bratton, Marlee, Christina Kamis and William Carter.
