He is survived by: his wife Penny; his sister Patricia Dorsey Stein; his children, Ed Dorsey (Cyndi) and Kelly Elphinstone (Mike); and his granddaughter Grace Elphinstone.

Ed was known to many folks from his many personal contributions to Calvert County (his home these past 48 years), including the Optimist Club (several times as an officer), Northern Calvert Little League (which he helped found, and in a single season served as President, Coach, and Umpire-in-Chief), youth soccer, Friends of the Library, and Meals-on-Wheels.
