He was predeceased by: his wife Bettye Kaufman; his daughter-in-law Susan Kaufman; his parents, Nettie Kaufman and Morris Kaufman; and his brothers, Jack and Alvin.

He is survived by: his children, Shelley Lichtfuss (Joseph) and Alan Kaufman; his grandchildren, Alyson Spanier, Adam Lichtfuss (Ashley), Jordan Singer (Jon), Justin Lichtfuss (Arianne) and Evan Kaufman; his great grandchildren, Nolan Singer, Maya Singer, Jack Spanier, Harrison Spanier, Braden Lichtfuss and Landon Lichtfuss; and his friend Rita Levy.
