She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Velma Porter and Joseph Porter; her husband William L. Hedgpeth, Jr. (Bill); her sister Patsy Ingram; her daughter Pamela Burgess; her son-in-law John Burgess; her grandchildren, Halle, Marley and William Burgess; and her nephews, John and Joseph Ingram.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Marian Assisted Living of Brookeville, MD in Monte's name.
