Bernard James Cooney Obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Bernard James Cooney of Olney, Maryland, born in Worcester, Massachusetts, who passed away on February 24, 2024 at the age of 81. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his siblings, Joseph J. Cooney and Margaret M. "Peg" Creamer (Cooney). He is survived by: his wife Jean (Mercier); his daughters, Cathleen A. Schultz (Sander) of Silver Spring, Anita Roschy (R. Dean) of Columbia, Mary Jean King (Jeffrey) of Basking Ridge and Patricia A. Gribbon of Holly Springs; his stepson Bernard J. Cooney (Grace) of Montclair; his siblings, Timothy J. Cooney (Joyce) of Cape Cod, Massachusetts and Virginia M. Benison of Holden, Massachusetts; and his grandchildren, Connor, Colleen, Emma, Owen, Claire, Mary Catherine, Christine, Brenna, Alex and James. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
