It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Ernestine Virginia Irons of Oldtown, Maryland, who passed away on February 18, 2025, at the age of 78, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Jacob Mullenax, Sr. and Edrie Mullenax (Bergdoll); her husband Donald Irons; her sister Darlene Nixon; her sons-in-law, Scott Voorhees and Kenneth Bennett; her niece Julia Wigginton; her nephew Christopher Mullenax; and her close friend Myrtle Robinette.
She is survived by: her daughters, Sharon Dolly and Michele Voorhees (Todd Saunders); her grandchildren, Tonya Irons and Ryan Voorhees; her great grandchildren, Hannah Jedlowski and Isabella Haislip; her close friends, Diane Perrin (Mike) and Bonnie Durr (Terry); her brothers, George Mullenax (Karen), David Mullenax (Charlotte) and Jacob Mullenax, Jr. (Roxanne); her great-niece Alexis Nixon; and also Michael Haislip.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 22nd 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Adams Family Funeral Home (404 Decatur St, Cumberland, MD 21502). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 22nd 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to the funeral home to assist with expenses.
