He was predeceased by: his parents, David Abernathy and Eleanor Abernathy; and his sister Lisa. He is survived by: his wife Marlys; his daughters, Sarah (Drew) and Kathryn; his stepchildren, Tad (Caitlyn) and Alaina (Logan); and his grandchildren, Anna, Emily, Aiden and Caroline.
