He was predeceased by: his parents, Elbert Franklin Van Nostrand and Winfrey Cutler Van Nostrand; his wife Mildred Van Nostrand; his daughter Nancy Clair Van Nostrand; his brother Elbert Franklin Van Nostrand; and his grandson Michael Van Nostrand.
He is survived by: his sons, George Gregory Van Nostrand (Pamela), Stuart David Van Nostrand (Yan), Steven York Van Nostrand (Annie) and Kirk Winfrey Van Nostrand; his brother David L. Van Nostrand (Sandra); his sister-in-law Jaqueline Van Nostrand; and his grandchildren, Keith Gregory Van Nostrand (Shadè), Vincent Leon Van Nostrand (Kate), Jason Van Nostrand, Kayla Van Nostrand, Talia Van Nostrand, Valerie Van Nostrand, Daniel Joseph Van Nostrand, Christopher James Van Nostrand, Kari Anne Van Nostrand and Samantha Claire Van Nostrand. He is also survived by eight great-grandchildren.
