Smith of Ocean City, Maryland, born in Washington, District of Columbia, who passed away on July 1, 2023, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Charles Lucas and Beryl Lucas (Carrico); her daughter Donna McAvaney; and her granddaughter Stephanie McAvaney. She is survived by: her children, Darlene Garber (Curtis) and Paul A. Matthews (Jill); her son-in-law Barry McAvaney (Kathy); and her grandchildren, Carole Ann Furr (Frank), Lisa Sapp (Bobby), Amy Ferro (Rich), Tony Matthews, Connor Matthews, Gina Smith, Jeff Garber (Kim) and Kevin Garber (Maria). She is also survived by her many, many great-grandchildren.
