He was predeceased by: his parents, Garrett Chester and Lila Ona Dixon (Harvey); his children, Roger A. Dixon and Diana L. Grubb; his brother Chester Dixon; his sons-in-law, Kenneth Cummings and James Grubb; and his sister-in-law Phyllis Dixon.
He is survived by: his wife Ellen Dixon; his children, Steve C. Dixon (Valerie), James W. Dixon (Judy), Terry L. Cummings, Kathy D. Ferrell (David) of Bridgeport, WV, Barbara A. Lipscomb (George) of Aurora, WV, Donna J. Bailey (Aurora) and Mary A. Seymour (Ike) of Des Moines, IA; and his brother Harvey "Tim" Dixon of Elk Ridge, MD. He is also survived by twenty grandchildren, twenty-seven great grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren.
