Toby Upton Obituary

Toby William Upton, 39, of Oakland, MD, passed away on Monday, August 9, 2021, at Garrett Regional Medical Center, Oakland. Born October 5, 1981, in Oakland, he was the son of Charles William and Elizabeth Juanita (Shaffer) Upton. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Laney Upton; paternal grandfather, Lloyd William Upton; maternal grandparents, Albert Steven and Evelyn Jean Shaffer.

Toby worked as the maintenance supervisor for the town of Kitzmiller, MD. He was a member of Beechwood Rod and Gun Club, and Mountain Top Hunting Club. Toby enjoyed hunting, fishing, riding buggies, and anything outdoors. Most importantly, he loved spending time with his girls. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his two daughters, Emma Nicole and Harper Grace Upton, Kitzmiller; his great grandmother, Louise Upton, Oakland; one brother, Timothy Upton and wife, Shelly, Swanton, MD; one sister, Nicole Carr and husband, Brandon, Aurora, WV; girlfriend, Amy Estill, Oakland; ex-wife, Tabitha Upton, Kitzmiller; several nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received on Friday from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at Newman Funeral Homes, 1100 Memorial Dr., Oakland, MD, 21550. Services will be held in the funeral home chapel on Saturday, August 14, 2021, at 11:00 a.m., with Reverend Dr. Matthew Paugh officiating. Interment will be at the Moon Cemetery, Oakland.
