As John departs from our midst, his spirit ascends to join the cosmic dance of stars, a shimmering constellation of memories that will forever grace the night sky of the hearts of those who loved John. Though John may no longer walk beside us, his legacy lives on — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of time and space.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Sallie Pearl and James Archie Underwood. He is survived by: his wife Angela Bergling; his children, Michael Underwood (Janis) of Silver Spring, Maryland, Jan Underwood (Brad Groelsema) of Fairfield, Pennsylvania, Jalene Kolb (Marvin) of Accident, Maryland, Mark Underwood of St. Augustine, Florida and Julia Underwood (Teresa Cloutier) of Hallowell, Maine; and his great grandchild Helen West of Oakland, Maryland.. He is also survived by three grandchildren.
Friends and acquaintances so moved are encouraged to make a donation in his name to the USS Lexington Museum in Corpus Christi, Texas, or the charity of their choice.
