He was predeceased by: his parents, Eugene "Pappy" Smith and Christine Marie Smith (McCloud); and his brothers, Roger Lee Smith (Rocky), Eugene Smith (Stoney), Timothy Smith and George David Smith (Jake).
He is survived by: his wife Patricia Ann Wilt (Patti); his daughters, Melissa Dawn Walden (Tim) and Jennifer Lynn Warnick (Dewey); his great grandchildren, Eyan Kane Sullivan, Oakley Eric Edward Deal, Isabelle Gracelynn Bittinger and Beau Owen Eugene Bittinger; his sister Sylvia May Guthrie (Marvin); his sisters-in-law, Barbara Irene Dunbar, Wanda May Douty and Sharon Ann Smith; his brother John Henry Smith; his friends, Thomas Kierstead of Fruita, CO and Rick Broadwater; and his close friends, Roy Thomas, Bill Thomas, Terry Lewis, Mary Chaney, Lisa Freeland and Debbie Beitzel.
Their life was full, even in this last difficult year, when Gerald's failing health and COVID took its toll, limiting any visitation with his treasured family.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Gerald's memory to the Crossroads Church building fund.
